PRAYenterPrayer Room 2011 Art installation


 
Recreation of actual rooms and spaces a stairwell used in daily prayer by Muslims in the world trade center before the 9/11 attacks. The exhibit explores not only these place but the relationship between, monumental architecture, cultures, religion in America, minorities and place.
The installation also includes video of Muslim Americans who prayed in these spaces, and what they remember of the spaces themselves from memory.

Explores place, landscape, symbolic imagery and identity superimposed onto and in “real” world locations, thus distorting their reality, image with re-imagined common road signs. These works are photographed digitally and all artwork prints are 7 feet 6 inches long.
